It seems like a bogus explanation, but a bad news nonetheless.

Considering we're at a point where client based gaming just shreds and kills community based gaming, I guess there is no other alternative to xfire (a viable one!) besides Origin (el oh el) and Steam.

You can still easily reach me on Steam, sqlfoxhound, same as with xfire.

i just hate the origin chat client with all the gamerequest stuff right through the chat and the huge spacing in which you end up with only being able to lookback 3 lines onscreen. its really the worst chat ever designed. I'm often on steam too though, its not perfect chat but atleast a whole lot better than origin. and for me both my usernames are like xfire & the forum: bl0m5t3r

and yes, we were still using it. i was using it almost daily still, albeit the group of people on there was getting smaller. it will be sorely missed by me. it was just a great client, crossplatform (then i mean origin/steam/uplay/gog/etc.) gaming info of who was playing what, great compact chat window, file sending, and simple.

i guess steam/skype is the next thing to go to, got most of if not all of fk that are regular atm on steam.
