Finally, a trailer compilation topic in which every trailer is great. Except Assassins Creed. Unsurprisingly, another cashgrab videogame adaptation. Anyone familiar enough with the AC lore/story who could comment on how accurate the movie seems to look like? My experience with AC is but a mere glimpse, as I've just read the plot synopsis and got familiar with the storyline (the base idea is pretty damn good sci fi) but as a moviegoer, it looks more like Resident Evil, not Silent Hill (if movies of games are compared).

Be glad you haven't seen the original trailer they've came up with.

edit: Also, it is said, that it will be roughly 1/3 of movie in the past, rest in future. Makes you wonder, how much boring those 2/3 will be. :P

Hmm, 1/3 of the movie will be a training montage and 2/3 of the movie will be modern action scenes. Noone cares about stupid swordfights.

Link me to the original trailer, I assume it was never aired?

Consume at your own risk! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

If you want something gaming related and good, try Overwatch animations, they're great. :P

It seems to stray pretty far off the game lore, which I don't really mind. The AC story was tailored pretty heavily towards game mechanics, so it seems a logical decision to re-introduce the whole universe from a movie standpoint. The problems with most game-to-movie adaptations, I feel, is that they're forcing themselves to stay too close to the source material without realizing that games and movies are, fundamentally, different types of media. Prince of Persia was particularly guilty of that.

The trailer itself doesn't look particularly amazing, but it has Michael Fassbender, so.... yay?

Not at all, Cheezz. The problem with gamemovies is that they stray too far away from the source material. WHat youre describing, the problem, could be be an issue seen with the Angry Birds movie, which relies solely on gameplay. Or Super Mario Bros movie. Lets take the most famous movie, for example, Resident Evil- it literally had no connection with the games bar the names of the characters and a few other titles.

Silent Hill still stands as a great example of how a videogame movie should be made as. Not the greatest movie of all time, but the ideas and the lore were pretty damn well used and as such, you dont really see the masses of disappointed SH fans, compared to RE fans.

You know there is a Tetris movie coming out? And not even one, but entire trilogy. Which is described as "epic scifi story". Aren't you excited? Why not?
